STEAM Education Intern
We are looking for passionate, engaged, and committed interns to assist the staff in educational programs. The internship will provide the student with real-world experience in:
- Teaching in classroom, museum, and science center settings with students of all ages
- Curriculum implementation
- Informal science education techniques in the STEAM fields
Department: Education
Classification: Unpaid internship, can but does not require academic credit
Reports to: Education Team Leads
Schedule: Between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Tuesday–Saturday. Minimum of 10 hours/week.
Internship Duties:
- Lead hands-on activities for all ages; guide volunteers who are assisting with educational programs
- Provide museum guests with an engaging and interactive experience
- Work collaboratively as part of the Cade education team
Qualifications:
- Ability to teach and spark curiosity in audiences of all ages
- Enjoys interacting with the public on a regular basis
- Comfortable initiating guest interactions
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changes
- Experience with education in formal or informal settings preferred, including theater/entertainment experience

Events Intern
We are looking for passionate, engaged, and committed interns to assist the event coordinator with facility rentals and special events. The internship will provide the student with real-world experience in event management.
Department: Events
Classification: Unpaid internship, can but does not require academic credit
Reports to: Events Manager
Schedule: Schedule varies based on event schedule. Minimum of 10 hours/week. *May require evening and weekend hours.
Internship Duties:
- Assist event manager with onsite event set-up, management, and breakdown
- Assist with the planning and promotion of internal special events
- Attendance and participation during client meetings, planning sessions, and brainstorms
- Special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- An adaptable, creative, articulate, highly-motivated individual with a positive, team-oriented attitude
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (informal and formal)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Marketing and Outreach Intern
We are looking for enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and committed interns to assist our Cade on the Road team, with various aspects of the museum’s outreach at high-traffic events, fairs, and festivals. This internship will provide real-world experience in event planning and on-site management, STEAM activity delivery, and post-event recaps. The position involves significant interaction with adults/parents and children of all ages both in the museum and in other event settings.
Department: Marketing + Outreach
Classification: Unpaid internship
Reports to: Marketing Outreach Lead
Schedule: 2-3 hours/week, between 9am and 5pm Monday-Friday, and 10-15 evening and/or weekend hours per month. Evening and weekend event hours will be confirmed 2-3 weeks in advance.
Internship Duties:
- Assist Marketing Outreach lead with planning, set-up, and breakdown of events
- Assist Marketing Outreach lead and other Museum educators with the facilitation of STEAM-based activities. Training will be provided and no prior scientific or teaching knowledge is required
- Assist with post-event recaps and other administrative tasks
- Special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- Comfortable interacting with the public including adults/parents, kids, and teens
- Advocate for the Cade Museum with the public (all necessary information will be provided)
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office/Word

Content Development Intern
We are looking for passionate, engaged, and committed interns to create videos and take photographs to be used in web-based and print applications for marketing and promotion purposes. Experience in iMovie or other video editing software is preferred.
Department: Marketing
Classification: Unpaid internship, can but does not require academic credit
Reports to: Marketing Director
Schedule: Minimum of 10 hours/week (including at home or “studio time”). Friday through Sunday, 12-5pm. Other weekdays and evenings may be required.
Internship Duties:
- Film and photograph classes, camps and events at the Cade Museum (may use your own camera, or the Museum’s Nikon D3200 DSLR with 1080p quality video.)
- Create promotional videos ( :30 to 2:00 in length)
Qualifications:
- Great attitude, self direction, and initiative
- Proficient in studio software. Must have access to your own (or school) photo editing and studio software

Administrative Intern
We are looking for passionate, engaged, and committed volunteers to assist the staff in day-to-day operations. The internship will provide real-world experience in arts management and events.
Department: Administration
Classification: Unpaid internship, can but does not require academic credit
Reports to: Executive Director
Schedule: Between 9am and 5pm Monday-Friday. Minimum of 10 hours/week.
Internship Duties:
- Assist staff with day-to-day operations
- Assist staff with events and special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- Great attitude, self direction and initiative
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (formal and informal)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Podcast Production Intern
We are seeking enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and committed volunteer interns to assist with the development of the museum’s podcast within the Product Development Department.
Department: Product Development
Classification: Unpaid internship
Reports to: Product Development Manager
Schedule: Part-time 10-15 hours/week, between 9am and 3pm Monday-Friday.
Internship Duties:
- Assist with market research
- Assist with coordination of interviews and recording sessions
- Assist with development of storyboards and discussion guides
- Assist with updating the planning calendar and recording schedule
- Assist with episode production, editing, promotion, and planning
- Special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- Experience in audio journalism or production
- Experience using podcast recording equipment, editing tools, and software
- Can prioritize multiple projects and deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
