The Cade Museum will be set in a newly reclaimed Depot Park.
One of Gainesville’s most visionary reclamation projects creates an opportunity to tie together environmental restoration, historic preservation and infrastructure improvements. The museum will help turn a neglected brownfield into a new learning and entertainment meeting place for the whole community.
Going Green
The Depot Park reclamation will replace contaminated soil with lakes, trails and gardens, transforming the site into an idyllic setting for bicycling, walking, birding and other family activities. By being the Park’s anchor, the Museum will signal Gainesville’s transformation from an exporter of commodities, to an exporter of ideas.
