A $38 Million Initiative
Gainesville's Challenge
The approximate cost of the building, including architectural and engineering fees, is about $27 million, with the exhibits costing an additional $11 million. Through the City of Gainesville's commitment and a number of supporting public entities, the Depot Park funding is already in place. We believe we can raise approximately $12 million in Gainesville, with the balance coming from the rest of Florida and the nation. You can help us reach our initial goal of $12 million from the community so that we can attract outside individual and corporate donors to the project.
The lead, naming gift
The Cade Museum Foundation, founded by Dr. Cade and his family, has made an extraordinary commitment of $5 million to the Museum. The gift consists of a donation of $5 million, plus an additional transfer of permanent ownership of a portion of Gatorade royalties to the Museum to fund a substantial portion of its operating costs in perpetuity.

Planning, full board formation and capital campaigning for The Cade Museum are carried out.
Works begins on the reclamation of Depot Park
2011
Ground is broken for the Cade Museum for Innovation and Invention.
2013
Grand Opening, Cade Museum for Innovation and Invention.
