i see the light: the story of optics
Welcome to optics, a branch of physics that deals with the behaviors of light. Light can do many things, from illuminating our homes, to making us see things that aren’t really there! This multi-lab class allows students to explore refraction, reflection, diffraction, interference, and polarization while experimenting with virtual reality and lasers. Students (and teachers) will use supplies to create a spectra scope, a simple kaleidoscope, a polarization kit and a few other fun items to take home. This class will also dabble in the Geosciences as we examine spar and silica, used to create early lenses. Teachers agree that the “make-n-takes” are great to use in the classroom to keep the learning going long after their Cade Creativity Lab experience.
