The 2012 Cade Museum Prize competition drew 120 entries from around Florida. The 2011 prize was won by Florida Sustainables

The museum is a response to the growing need to focus on creativity and inventiveness.

Dr. James Robert Cade was professor of renal (kidney) medicine at the University of Florida and the lead inventor of Gatorade.

The Cade Museum will be set in a newly reclaimed Depot Park.
