Kristen Pickens

Ms. Pickens graduated from the University of Florida before obtaining her Juris Doctor degree from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University. A third generation attorney, originally from Live Oak, Florida, she has served for 22 years as an Assistant State Attorney in the Eighth Judicial Circuit of Florida. She specializes in the prosecution and therapeutic resolution of cases involving issues of substance abuse and/or mental illness. Her current assignment includes Alachua County Felony Division V, Drug Court, Mental Health Court, and Veterans’ Treatment Court.
She sits on the Board of Directors for both the Florida Association of Drug Court Professionals and AMIKids Gainesville. In the community, she is involved as a Past President with the Junior League of Gainesville, actively mentors students through Take Stock in Children, and volunteers with Family Promise of Gainesville.
Her hobbies include traveling, cooking, and entertaining friends and family.
