Cade Museum Launches Pilot Program with Gainesville's Parks Recreation & Cultural Affairs (PRCA) for Research Study
We are pleased to announce the launch of a pilot program in partnership with the City of Gainesville's PRCA, where students from the Porter's Community Center will come to The Cade for three hands-on sessions. The goal of this program is to collect data that would support future grant funding which demonstrates the benefits of learning inside the Cade Creativity Lab environment. Students are briefly interviewed before and after each session with questions pertaining to their outlook on science, creativity and learning. Beyond data collection, we hope that this pilot program provides more opportunities for underserved areas to access STEAM education. Read the full story here. |
Thank You for Making Your Mark on the
Future Cade Museum On September 29, we welcomed the public to our current location where guests signed the final steel beam of the future Cade Museum before Oelrich Construction loaded the piece into place. We had a blast celebrating this milestone with partners, donors, students, volunteers, Cade staff and board members and all the construction workers that are turning this dream building into a reality. We are incredibly humbled by the amount of support we constantly receive from the Gainesville community. A huge thanks to everyone that stopped by and made their mark to be a part of the Museum's legacy! |
Code Night At The Cade Recap
Last week, we celebrated Code Night At The Cade with guest sparker Tony Barr, local inventor and entrepreneur, in partnership with Gainesville Entrepreneur Month. Guests enjoyed Tony's presentation on his founding role in a multi-billion dollar company and a glimpse of his latest project, A Mode Of Reality (AMOR) as well as a tour of the Cade Creativity and Fab Labs. This special event was a great networking opportunity for coders, software developers, employees of the tech industry, entrepreneurs and business professionals in the community. Construction Update
We are happy to report that to date, Oelrich Construction continues to progress on schedule. Jennifer Denault, who is the COO for The Cade and also oversees construction said, "The unique and iconic design of the building has certainly presented some interesting challenges, but our contractor and their subs continue to step up and find creative and quick solutions when necessary. Now that the topping off is complete, we have the skeleton of this impressive structure rising up out of the ground on Depot Park. Its size and location are definitely generating a lot of attention. And it will only get more exciting as the building begins to fill in." |
