Admission Discounts

The Cade Museum participates in Museums for All and offers discounted admission for low-income, Blue Star, and military families.

Military families: 20% off admission year round
Blue Star families: free admission from Armed Forces Day through Labor Day
Low-income families: $3 per adult, free for children and youth with SNAP EBT or WIC card

We also provide free Community Partner Memberships to select residents, students, and program participants in Greater Gainesville. See the full list of our current community partners here.

 


Reciprocal Museum Admission

The Cade participates in the Association of Science and Technology Centers (ASTC) Travel Passport Program, the Association of Children’s Museums (ACM) Reciprocal Program, and the North American Reciprocal Museum (NARM) Association.

Our goal is to provide the most engaging Cade Museum experience within an environment that not only meets, but exceeds, safety standards. We ask that visitors comply with local and state standards, which can be found here:

Additionally, we are proud to partner with Violet Defense, Orlando-based creators of patented, ultraviolet disinfectant devices that eliminate more than 99% of bacteria and viruses.

Violet Defense’s mobile ultraviolet disinfection units, which are also used by hospitals, bring a clinical-level of disinfection into the museum.

The Cade Museum is committed to providing accessible hands-on learning experiences to all museum guests.

  • Service Animals: People with restrained service animals are allowed full access to the Museum.
  • Wheelchair Accessible: The Cade Museum, including its bathrooms and water fountains, is accessible to people who use wheelchairs or other assisted mobility devices. The front entrance of the Cade Museum (located on South Main Street) is wheelchair accessible.

I left something behind at the Museum. How can I retrieve it?

To inquire if your item is in our lost and found, please email us at info@cademuseum.org and include your name, the best phone number to reach you, a description of the item, and the date of your museum visit.

Please note:

  • Items over $100 in value, cell phones, credit cards, and keys will be kept in the Museum safe. Each Wednesday, found items in the safe will be turned into the Gainesville Police Department.
  • For hygiene reasons, we will not store food or beverage items overnight and will only store water bottles for 1 week after they are found.
  • All other items will be retained for 30 days after the item was found.

When is the Museum open for general admission?

The Cade Museum is currently open for general admission Thursday-Sunday, 10:00am-4:00pm. The Cade Museum is closed on the following holidays each year: Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.

How do I become a Cade Museum member?

Learn more about the benefits of being a Cade Museum member on our member page. All Cade Museum members receive free general admission to other Association of Science and Technology Centers (ASTC) member museums over 90 miles from the Cade. Members at the Neural Network level and higher receive additional reciprocal benefits at over 1,500 museums and science centers nationwide through ASTC, ACM, and NARM.

How do I volunteer at the Cade Museum?

If you are at least 14 years old, you can be a part of Team Cade as a volunteer. Visit the volunteer page for additional information.

Where can I find camps and classes for my child to attend?

The Cade Museum offers camps during school breaks for elementary-age students and weekly programs for ages 0-4 and K-6th grade. Our camps and classes are listed on our website calendar. Where do I park when I come to the Museum?

There is a parking lot adjacent to the Cade Museum building. Parking is free for Cade Museum guests. No overnight parking is permitted.
