Richard Allen

Richard Allen founded and served as CEO of Xhale, a medical technology spin-out from the University of Florida with technologies in patient monitoring, drug monitoring and pharmaceuticals. Over a 35 year career, including his work with Synogen, Mr. Allen has co-founded Axogen, OrthoHelix, Viewray, Chaologix, Optima Neuroscience, and BluAzu.
Prior to Xhale and Synogen, Mr. Allen co-founded RTI Surgical, Inc., a producer of orthopedic biologic and other surgical implants. Mr. Allen is also co-founder of Sustainable Cambodia, a nonprofit organization working in rural Cambodia through an empowerment model where village families learn how to install water wells and irrigation systems, learn alternative agriculture, and gain skills and education.
Mr. Allen has served on the boards of the Rotary Club of Gainesville, the Sebastian Fererro Foundation and Challenge Day, among many others. He holds two degrees from the University of Florida, serves on the boards of several medical technology companies, is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in Florida, and is a recipient of the international Service Above Self award for his work in Cambodia, the highest public service recognition award given by Rotary International.
