A: We suggest you bring high socks as they work the best with the free skates provided. To save time, you can bring a completed and signed Waiver with you - one Waiver is required per person skating (click to download a waiver PDF), or you can complete one at the Skate Shop in the museum.
Q: What do I wear? Is it cold enough for a jacket?
A: Our artificial ice rink isn’t cold like real ice, so you can wear whatever you’re comfortable in, and don’t forget to bring socks! Our Ice Skate Nights are themed, so feel free to dress for the theme specified.
Q: If my child is on the ice, do I need to be on the ice with them?
A: You do not have to be on the ice with your child, but we do ask that you remain in the skating area watching your child during the entire time they are using the rink. Skates must be worn on the ice if you would like to accompany your child.
A: Skating and skate rentals are included with museum admission.
Q: Can I bring my own skates?
A: Yes, you can wear your own ice skates, but free rental skates are included with museum admission.
Q: Do I need to reserve a time in advance to skate?
A: Advance registrations are not necessary for skating during general admission on Fridays and Saturdays from Noon - 5 pm. You can register for a skate time at the Skate Shop after entering the museum. However, if you wish to attend a themed skate night, advance reservations for Thursday nights are required. Visit Cademuseum.org/calendar to learn more and register for our themed skate nights.
